From St Cloud to kayaking with the Manatees of the St Johns River!

This morning at French Landing we had the entire St Johns River to ourselves. As the Manatees are now starting to move into the springs it wasn’t hard to find a few feeding along the weed lined bank. The Anhingas were sitting in the trees drying their wings and we could hear the Bald Eagle sounding off from the tree top. The Garfish, Bass and Bream swam right under our kayaks which is always a cool sight. Today is the official day for the spring run to be shut off so the Manatees can enjoy their Winter sanctuary. That was great timing for us! Seeing the Manatees in the clear water is always a treat. There were Yellow and Red-bellied River Turtles out sunning and Great Blue Herons were out fishing. The Red-shouldered Hawks, Little Blue Herons, Great Egrets and many others were hanging out on the river with us. But wait...Is that a Cormorant perched on Randy’s shoulder?
