Paddling near the Ocala National Forest March 17, 2015

Canada and Wisconsin were well represented on this mornings St Johns River tour with not a bit of snow in sight! As we set off on our wildlife adventure Little Blue Herons, Great Egrets, American Coots and Pied-billed Grebes were all spotted frolicking on the river. The Great Blue Herons are nesting and the Black and Turkey Vultures were copping thermals overhead. A Bald Eagle and a few Ospreys showed themselves, there was a very large Alligator out sunning and we also got to see several River Cooter Turtles. The Barred Owl is still back in the swamps of Snake Creek and it was a beautiful day on the river.
