Discovering Florida's Wildlife February 26, 2015

12 of us hit the St Johns River this morning eyes wide open for the wildlife. All down for a little sunshine, we had paddlers from OR, PA and IN. A Purple Gallinule greeted us and we watched an Osprey with a fresh fish that just couldn't get his catch up in the air. As he dropped it another Osprey came down and snatched it up right next to us. 3 Wood Storks were out feeding in the Cypress Swamp and a few Gators and Turtles were out sunning on the logs. On the way back we followed a big Mother Manatee with 2 youngsters all the way to the take out. That's just good stuff right there!
