A Peaceful Easy Kayak Tour July 15, 2016
Rick and Char brought the crew with them this time for a little Wekiva River paddle. The river flows gently along and the birds love it. We saw the Little Blue Herons in the “calico” phase as well as the full adult "blue" phase; Great Blues were out hunting and fishing too. The Ospreys were flying overhead looking for lunch and the Mullet were darting around the kayaks leaving a wake as they passed us. As we kayaked along the river's edge, the shade from the Cypress, Red Maples and Live Oak Trees kept us cool. The River Cooter Turtles are out sunning on the logs this time of day and we enjoyed our peaceful morning on the Wild and Scenic Wekiva.
